Ilocos Sur is a beautiful province located in the northern part of Luzon. It is a province rich in culture that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino heritage. To show and share their treasures to the whole world, the locals conceived a festival that highlights these cultural traditions and they called it the “Kannadiwan Festival”.It is a celebration that lasts from the last week of January up to the first week of February. Included in the course of events is the commemoration of the foundation day of the province.

Ryan Luis V. Singson.

               We Filipinos celebrate the Philippine independence day, because that is time we became free. Being a truly free country means a lot. The Spaniards attacked us years ago. I am student at Ilocos Sur National High School. And I am writing you today to share my thoughts about drug-related war. I became interested in this issue because of the drug related war. The cases of crimes in our country has lessen. Before, many women were raped by drug addicts, but now it was lessen. The “drug-related war” refers to the drug policy of the Philippine government under President Rodrigo Duterte. Drug related war is important because crimes has lessen and it helps create a place that is drug free.
